At Baselworld 2010, the world-renowned watchmaker Chanel has brought out its captivating J12 Marine watch. Inspired by the blue sea, this horological novelty demonstrates an extremely strong personality.
Equipped with all professional diving features, the J12 Marine watch is successfully conquering a new territory of depth. It is submersible to 300 meters.
The new Chanel watch is offered in two variations. The first interpretation comes with a black high-tech sand-blasted ceramic and steel case, fitted with a blue bezel (38 and 42mm) or a black bezel (42mm). It is accompanied by a flexible black rubber strap with openings to facilitate water drainage.
The second variation of the J12 Marine watch is available
with a white high-tech polished ceramic and steel case, endowed with a white
bezel (38mm). This variation is affixed to a flexible white rubber strap. The
bracelets of both interpretations terminate in a polished and satin-finish
ardillon buckle engraved with Chanel.
The unidirectional rotating bezel of the Chanel diver’s watch frames a black or
white lacquer dial. The display exposes a luminescent dot at 12 o’clock, hands
and numerals, which assure perfect time-reading in low light conditions. The
dial of the black version is protected by a sapphire crystal, which features a
blue anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The white model, meanwhile, demonstrates
a clear coating.
The new Chanel J12 Marine watch provides the useful functions
of indicating hours, minutes, seconds, date and time under water on the bezel.
Animating them is a mechanical Swiss automatic movement, which operates
at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The mechanism boasts a 42-hour
power reserve. The reliable and extremely comfortable to use and to wear Chanel
diver's watch will surely appeal to avid divers.
